SPEEDING UP BY SLOWING DOWN

Anna Jorgensen-Terry

Whether you are building base, peaking for race day or focusing on getting/staying in shape, recovery is key.  In this workshop, Anna Jorgensen-Terry of bodyKinesis will guide participants through focused yoga sequences to tackle areas of tension that arise from sport and everyday life.  During this process of bringing the body back to balance, Anna will also explain how to expand participants' regimen of self care by introducing targeted myofascial release into their yoga practice.  Following this, the workshop will culminate with a restorative series and extended final relaxation designed to foster the culture of recovery that is critical for the health and happiness of active people.  This workshop is designed to be valuable to all, regardless of previous yoga experience.

$25 if paid by 5/27; $30 thereafter

ESTABLISHING A HOME PRACTICE

Sharon Comeau

I
n these three sessions, we will look at establishing a home practice using asana, pranyama and meditation.

In the summer, many of us have less structured time, more time away from home and the yoga studio.  Having a practice at home can help keep you in the rhythm of your yoga practice, keeping the mind, body and spirit in shape.

We will work on: basic poses and common alignments to pay attention to; putting these poses together into interesting combinations; establishing goals for your practice; creating time in your day to practice; creating time in your practice for breathwork and quiet sitting; and using other resources (dvds, online resources) to help you in your practice.

Each class will include asana, meditation and pranyama. Classes will build on each other but each one will stand on its own.  Take one or take them all.
Classes are geared towards a beginner student or any student willing to work at a beginner level who would like to establish a home practice.

$25 for each session, or $60 for the series
